Staircase Spirit is an indie band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who have been making music and playing shows since 2020. The band is comprised of Eduardo Giralt (vocals/guitar), Jayson Verebay (drums), and Nat Segebre (creative direction/visual media). Eduardo and Jayson met in high school and became fast friends after discovering their mutual appreciation for bands like Radiohead, The Strokes, and Nirvana. In college, the pair began writing and recording together, and marked their first official release in 2022 with What Happened To, produced by Nick Corcillo. Nat created the artwork for their first release, and has since joined the band as their designer, photographer and creative director. The band has spent the past two years performing at bars and venues throughout Florida, growing a loyal fan base in their local scene. Most recently, the band collaborated with Daryl Palumbo, frontman of the bands Glassjaw, Head Automatica, and Color Film on their new single, The Bronze Jade. The single was produced, mixed and mastered by Palumbo, and together, the band refined and redefined their sound in the pursuit of depth and class. On June 21st, 2023, the band opened for Head Automatica’s comeback show following a decade-long hiatus at Gramps in Miami.
